Sustaira Launches a Waste Management Solution to Bring Clarity and Control to Complex Waste Data

New solution enables organizations to centralize, standardize, and automate waste data management across sites, streams, and disposal methods.

Sustaira, the modular AI-powered sustainability platform, today announced the launch of its new Waste Management Solution a solution designed to help organizations manage and analyze waste data with greater accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.

As sustainability regulations evolve and reporting requirements become more stringent, organizations face increasing pressure to improve the way they track and report waste. However, waste data often remains fragmented across sites, suppliers, and systems, making it difficult to consolidate information and translate it into meaningful insights.

The Waste Management Solution addresses this challenge by providing a centralized environment where sustainability teams can capture, standardize, and analyze waste data across their organization. It enables detailed tracking by site, waste stream, and disposal method, while automatically aggregating data across complex organizational structures.

“Waste is one of the most operational and yet most fragmented areas of sustainability,” said Rory O’Sullivan, Global Sustainability Lead at Sustaira. “With the Waste Management Solution, we are giving organizations a way to move beyond manual data collection and disconnected spreadsheets, and instead build a structured, reliable foundation for waste management and reporting.”

A key capability of the Waste Management Solution is its ability to ensure consistency in calculations. Organizations can leverage Sustaira’s built-in emission factors and unit conversions or define their own, with full flexibility to manage updates across reporting periods. This helps reduce errors and ensures alignment with internal methodologies and regulatory expectations.

The Waste Management Solution also leverages Sustaira’s AI capabilities to automate one of the most time-consuming aspects of waste management: data ingestion. Through advanced OCR, the solution can extract and structure data from unstructured documents such as invoices, waste transfer notes, and reports.

By combining AI-driven data extraction with built-in validation and standardization, the Waste Management Solution significantly reduces manual effort, improves data accuracy, and accelerates reporting cycles.

The Waste Management Solution is fully integrated within the Sustaira ecosystem and can be deployed as a standalone solution or as part of the broader Sustainability Launchpad. It connects seamlessly with existing building software, like Siemens Building X, allowing organizations to enhance their current infrastructure without disruption.

“With this launch, we continue to expand our modular approach to sustainability,” said Vincent de la Mar, Founder and CEO at Sustaira. “Our goal is to give organizations the flexibility to address specific challenges, like waste management, while building toward a fully connected sustainability ecosystem.”

The Waste Management Solution is now available to organizations globally.
