Meet Sustaira: Annalisa Lozza, Making Sustainability Tangible
We’re excited to welcome Annalisa Lozza to the Sustaira team as our new Jr. Marketing.
With a background shaped by creativity, communication, and a strong interest in sustainability, Annalisa brings a curious and energetic perspective to the team. From Milan to Melbourne and Queenstown, her journey has taken her across very different places and cultures, each contributing to her understanding of what it means to feel at home.
At Sustaira, she’ll be exploring the connection between communication, technology, and sustainability, helping make complex topics more tangible and accessible.
We sat down with Annalisa to learn more about her journey, what brought her to Sustaira, and the things that inspire her both inside and outside of work.
Where do you call home?
Home is a complex word. It’s not just a place. It’s community, love, people, belonging. Home is where you learn how to live.
My childhood home is Milan, a chaotic, foggy city. My first “rent” home was Melbourne, with its mixture of underground culture and art. It’s probably the chillest place I’ve ever been. But the first time in my life I truly felt like I belonged somewhere was in Queenstown, New Zealand.
So yes, I guess we should say that home isn’t just about roots. It can also be a starting point for your growing path.
Although, my little self would probably argue that my home is the sea. I’ve always wanted to be a mermaid. I genuinely believed I had the power to create waves!
What drew you to Sustaira?
The combination of AI and sustainability, honestly. At first, it might sound like an oxymoron, which is exactly what made me curious about it.
I was interested in exploring that connection and understanding how technology can contribute to something as important and tangible as sustainability.
Sustaira felt like the next step for me: a place where I could use communication and creativity to help make sustainability more tangible and measurable.
What’s your role at Sustaira, and what excites you about it?
I’m joining as a Jr. Marketing. What excites me most is being part of a young team where I can be creative and flexible while working on something that genuinely matters.
I’m looking forward to learning, experimenting with new ideas, and finding ways to communicate sustainability in a way that people can understand and connect with.
What does sustainability mean to you, personally?
Oh, it’s definitely more of a daily practice for me.
I don’t eat meat, I mostly buy second-hand clothes, and I try to keep my footprint as light as possible. For me, it’s an act of care for my surroundings, which aren’t just mine but belong to everybody.
I see sustainability as the core of a reasoned life. If you want to be part of something, you need to take care of it.
What role do you see technology playing in accelerating sustainability goals?
I think technology is what turns good intentions into measurable action.
It can bridge a gap by turning complexity into clarity, so people can actually act on what they learn instead of getting lost in information.
That’s what I find particularly interesting about the connection between technology and sustainability. It can make complex challenges easier to understand and, ultimately, easier to act on.
Tell us a little about yourself. What are some fun facts or things people might not expect?
I have an unshakable love for bees. I genuinely believe I share their work ethic, as well as their love of a good nap 🤪.
But I love animals of every kind, especially snails and donkeys.
You could also consider me a strange Italian because I barely drink coffee.
I spent years doing theatre and film acting, and I’m also a bit of an outdoors addict. Sailing, bouldering, hiking, you name it.
And if there’s a board game on the table, I’m probably the one suggesting we play “just one more round”, especially if it’s Catan.
We’re delighted to welcome Annalisa to the Sustaira team. Her creativity, curiosity, and passion for making sustainability more tangible will bring a fresh perspective to our marketing team as we continue communicating how technology can help organizations turn complex sustainability challenges into meaningful action.
Welcome to the team, Annalisa!
