Meet Sustaira: Ankit

Here at Sustaira, we get to know all of our employees very well and we want you to know them too! For every new team member, we ask them the following questions to learn about who they are and why sustainability matters to them. Today, we introduce Ankit Jain.

Ankit is a Sustaira consultant and developer, who is passionate about using his technical skills to create a positive impact on the planet. To help you get to know him better, we asked him a few questions about his journey, his role, and what sustainability means to him.

Where is home for you?

I live in Almere, the Netherlands. It’s a peaceful and green city, and I enjoy how close it is to nature while still being well-connected. It feels like a good balance between quiet and convenient.

What made you decide to join the Sustaira team?

I wanted to be part of something meaningful. At Sustaira, I felt that I could use my technical skills in a way that actually supports the planet. It’s not just about building apps, it’s about building something with purpose. I also really liked the positive and passionate vibe of the team.

What is your role at Sustaira?

I’m a Sustaira Consultant and Mendix developer. My job is to help build applications that support Sustainability and ESG efforts. I enjoy turning ideas into working software and seeing how those tools can help people make better decisions for the environment.

What does sustainability mean to you?

For me, sustainability is about being responsible, not just for today, but for the future too. It’s about making simple changes in everyday life that, over time, make a big difference. Whether it’s using less plastic, saving energy, or just being more aware of what we consume, it all counts.

Where do you believe technology meets sustainability in your vision?

Technology can really make sustainability more practical. It helps people and companies track what they’re doing, understand their impact, and improve step by step. When used the right way, tech becomes a tool to create positive change, not just measure it.

Tell us a little bit about you! Just a couple of fun facts or something people may not know. What do you believe people need to know about you?

I enjoy cycling! it’s a great way to stay active and see new places. I like reading, especially books that make me think or learn something new. Music is something I turn to for relaxation or during workouts, it helps me reset and stay focused. I try to make small sustainable choices in daily life because I believe small steps matter.

We are incredibly excited to have Ankit on board. His thoughtful approach to sustainability and his expertise in development are a fantastic addition to our team. Welcome, Ankit!
