Kyle’s Interview:

What made you decide to join the Sustaira team?

I have always tried to make smart choices when it came to minimizing my carbon footprint, so the decision to join a company focused on bringing technological innovation with the goal of driving sustainability was a no-brainer for me. Furthermore, I am also excited to find ways to impact our collective future for the better in the areas of well-being and social equity.

What is your role at Sustaira?

My role within Sustaira is as a Senior Developer, with a focus on using the Mendix low-code platform. I bring over 6 years of experience with Mendix and have delivered on over 20 applications in that time within the energy, manufacturing and healthcare industries.

What does sustainability mean to you?

To me, sustainability embodies balance. I believe that we must put as much energy into conserving the natural world and creating a positive environment for humankind as we do in consuming the resources available to us.

Where do you believe technology meets sustainability in your vision?

I believe that we are lacking in the understanding of the impacts we have on the world around us, but the data is available to help us understand better. This is where I believe technology can help, by bringing together disparate sources of data and collating them, to provide better insights that drive a sustainable future forward.

Tell us a little bit about you! Just a couple of fun facts or something people may not know. What do you believe people need to know about Kyle Kunzer?

I am a certified hobbyist drone operator, specifically using FPV (first-person view) drones. There is no greater sensation of freedom than to fly through the air, and a drone is also a great way to explore lots of hidden nooks and crannies in the natural world around us.
